Gammedda100-Days begins construction work on anicut and banks

Work on yet another project as part of the Gammedda 100-Day initiative, got under way in Keenaketiya, Athkandura, Galle on Friday.

Construction work on the anicut and two banks located along the road leading upto the Keenaketiya Village got underway today under the auspices of Director of Business Development News 1st,  Shameer Rasooldeen and Gammedda General Secretary Udhaya Wanniarachi.

The work on the project comes as part of efforts to put a full stop to the frustration experienced by the people of village due to a lack of a proper irrigation system.

Construction work commenced at the auspicious time of 10.23 a.m. on Friday. Residents and significant personalities of the province were present at the occasion. Construction work on the banks and the anicut are scheduled to be completed in a week.
