Akmalgedara – Thibbatuwawa, Akuressa
The people of Akmalgedara has been struggling to find clean water for decades. The adults in the village have been compelled to drink unclean water for the most part of their lives.
However, today marked the end of their woes as the foundation was laid to resolve the chronic water shortage faced by the people of Akmalgedara today (September 15) under the Gammadda 100 days initiative.
The project will be completed in a matter of few days, bringing an end to to the decades long search for clean drinking water.
The Sri Lanka Export Credit Insurance Corporation joined hand with the Gammadda 100 days initiative to make this project a reality for the people of Akmalgedara.
With the support of the labor of the villagers and the assistance of the National Water Supply and Drainage Board, in just a few days, the people of Akmalgedara will receive a continuous supply of clean drinking water.
“People come from areas where there is no water with requests. But we have only been able to sucessfully adress a few of those requests. Thereby, we have great appreciating for this project undertaken by the Sirasa Network and the Export Credit Insurance Corporation.” said K.A.
