Gammadda 100-Day Initiative continues to make dreams come true
Over the past several months, the Gammadda 100 days programme, an unprecedented public service initiative, has been successful in completing numerous projects to uplift the livelihoods of people living in some of the most remote areas in the country.
The Gammadda 100-Days Initiative continues to bring hope to hundreds of communities who have been neglected for decades.
In the past week alone, four projects commenced under the Gammadda 100-Days Initiative have been completed, while work has begun on three more projects.
Projects that have been completed
1. Clean drinking water for 850 families in Kahakurullanpelessa, Thanamalwila and surrounding villages.
2. Clean drinking water for the Hambegamuwa Secondary School and Rural Hospital.
3. Clean drinking water for the people of Periyaparanthan, who were forced to drink brackish water for several years.
4. Access road constructed for the people of Keenaketiya in Karandeniya, Athkandura in Galle.
Projects that have been started
1. A clean drinking water project in Hambegamuwa, Thanamalwila
2. A clean drinking water project for the people of Akmalgedara in Thibbatuwawa, Akuressa
3. An elephant fence to protect the residents of the 9th mile post village in Sooriyapura
Several major projects are slated to commence in the coming days under the Gammadda 100-Days Initiative, further expanding the reach of the programme and touching the lives of hundreds of thousands of Sri Lankans.
