Min. Premadasa attends launch of Gammadda housing programme in Katanwewa
A housing project was launched for the people of Katanwewa on Sunday with the intervention of the Gammadda programme.
Housing and Construction Minister Sajith Premadasa laid the foundation stone today for a project to build 42 homes in the Katanwewa area in Hambantota.
Minister Sajith Premadasa recalled when the ‘Sirasa Gammadda programme’ came to Katanwewa and brought ministers and MPs to a public forum, where the people were able to directly submit the issues they face to the ministers and MPs.
“You may remember that many of you in Katanwewa submitted issues surrounding housing”, said the Minister
He added that following on the message received from the ‘Sirasa Gammadda programme’, not only is a Saranagama Udagammanaya being created here, but if the Gammadda programme is implemented throughout this region, the housing issues of all the people in the area can be solved.
