Another complaint against Mahindananda – summoned to PRECIFAC
Former Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage has been summoned by Presidential Commission of Inquiry to Investigate and Inquire into Serious Acts of Fraud, Corruption and Abuse of Power, State Resources and Privileges (PRECIFAC) on the 29th to record a statement in connection with the incident in which he had taken over for his personal use two lands at Nawalapitiya belonging to the Department of Railways.
It has been revealed in initial investigations that the former Minister had leased out a 13.2 perch land worth Rs. 3,630,000 on Ambagamuwa road at Nawalapitiya, built an unauthorized three storied building for his personal use.
Also, the Commission is to take action regarding building a party office on the pretext of maintaining a social service institution on a 79.5 perch land belonging to the Department of Railways and illegally occupying Railway Quarters inflicting a loss of Rs.2.5 million to the Department.
