Virginia 
A 14 year old school boy who fell on to a fence and had part of a wooden pole pierced into his body was rescued following an emergency surgical operation today, a Spokesman from Matara hospital said.
The boy had fallen from the roof of his house to the fence.
He was rushed to the hospital with the part of the pole in his body.
Doctors said that eight inches of the pole had pierced in to his body.
The boy is recovering at the Matara General Hospital.
