BENTOTA Beach Hotel has been hosting foreign weddings since 2002 and is now poised to celebrate 10 wonderful years of celebrating matrimony. ‘David and Eleanor’ were the lucky 600th couple to choose Bentota Beach Hotel as their venue to celebrate the beginning of their married life together. The wedding celebration took place in the garden with the tranquil view of the lagoon on 15 March with the presence of their family, friends, and other well wishers.

The wedding ceremony was conducted according to Sri Lankan traditional rituals and was garlanded by the gamut of dancers, singers, drummers and an elephant ride to make it a little more special and memorable.
After the wedding formalities ended Dave and Ellie enjoyed a romantic candle lit dinner at the Araliya restaurant, an a la carte restaurant that offers a selected variety of culinary delights, and a special champagne breakfast the following day. David and Eleanor commenting on the wedding said, “From the second we arrived, we were made to feel welcomed by all of the staff here. Nothing seemed too much for them. They are a credit to the hotel, and a credit to Sri Lanka. All the usual worry of a wedding was nowhere to be seen as everything was taken care of, leaving us to enjoy every moment leading up to the ceremony. The ceremony itself was amazing! The dancers, singers, drummer and elephant ride filled us with memories to cherish forever. We are so glad we chose to come here and have the traditional wedding rituals, surrounded by new friends including guests and your wonderful staff.”
Being the 600th wedding to take place at the hotel the couple was also surprised with a gift from the staff.
At Bentota Beach you can choose from three different wedding packages with venues from a wedding on the beach or garden wedding with the view of either the Bentota River or the Lagoon. Packages include the decorations, cake, traditional ceremony according to Sri Lankan customs, photography and video coverage, bridal bouquet just to name a few of the many features. The couple will also have personalized assistance and coordination of the entire event by the specialized team at the resort to ensure that they have that perfect dream wedding is just as planned. Weddings at Bentota Beach Hotel give you a personalized touch of luxury that will give you lasting memories to cherish forever!
