Methodists divided over issue of allowing LGBT clergy
Traditionalists in the United Methodist Church created an organization last week to push back against a movement that wants to change the denomination's rules to allow same-sex marriage and the ordination of openly gay, practicing clergy. The Wesleyan Covenant Association was announced on Friday during a gathering in Chicago, where the Rev. Jeff Greenway, lead pastor of Reynoldsburg United Methodist Church, was among featured speakers.
