Shashi Welgama & Bandusena before PRECIFAC
Shashi Welgama, nephew of former Minister of Transport in Mahinda Rajapaksa regime Kumara Welgama and M.D. Bandusena, two former Sri Lanka Transport Board chairmen have been summoned by the Presidential Commission Investigating Serious Acts of Fraud, Corruption, Abuse of Power, State Resources and Privileges (PRECIFAC) to be present on 3rd November.
This is to record statements from them in connection with investigations being carried out into alleged acts of fraud, corruption and abuse of state resources committed in the SLTB during Mahinda Rajapaksa regime and the misuse of four vehicles valued at Rs. 6.7 million by persons not entitled to vehicles.
The misappropriation of state values at SLTB during the period has caused to the state losses running up to millions of rupees say reports.
