A rare feat of two players from the same school holding centre stage in a record feat of scoring twin double centuries was recorded from Madampe during the week-end. It was a run feast all the way as Ruwan Lakshan struck 272 and Isuru Chamara 237 in posting over 500 runs between them for Shastranada MV, Dehiwala in romping to an innings and 556-run win over Madampe MMV, Kuleegoda. Lakshan struck 35 boundaries and 13 sixes in a 168-ball knock while Chamara struck 28 fours and 9 sixes off 160 balls in a 201-run 4th wicket partnership in a whopping 729 for 9 wickets for Shastranada MV .

Madampe MMV was bundled out for 89 and 84.

Meanwhile, Prince of Wales College, Moratuwa pulled off an innings and 16-run win over Wesley College while St. Peter’s College, Bambalapitiya coasted to an 8-wicket triumph over St. Benedict’s College. Santhush Gunatilleke struck an unbeaten 133 and A. Perera 58 with Chathura Obeyesekere claiming a first innings haul of 5 wickets for 41 for the Peterites.

Devapathiraja MV Ratgama beat St. Mary’s, Chilaw by 6 wickets. Bandaranayake Vidyalaya, Gampaha got the better of Joseph Vaz MV, Wennappuwa by 84 runs.
