Ravishka Wijesiri sets up Southern Province vs Western Province South final
It will be a Western Province South versus Southern Province
final of the SLC under 19 Provincial One-Day Tournament on Sunday. Southern Province won the second semi final against Western Province North on the Duckworth and Lewis ratio after bad light intervened in the 44th over at the Colts grounds on Friday. At that stage Western Province North was 207 for 9 wickets in 44 overs needing 261 to win.
The day of course, belonged to Ravishka Wijesiri who came up with a superb all-round performance to steer Western Province South. He top scored with 60 and chipped in with 3 key wickets for 22 runs to put the breaks on Western Province North. That was after Western Province South totaled 260 in 49.5 overs having batted first.
Meanwhile, on Thursday, Western Province South convincingly beat Western Province North by 130 runs in the first semi final at the Colts grounds to romp to the finals. Batting first, Western Province South posted a massive 303 for 8 wickets. Nishan Madushka led the way with a superb century (102) with Sanoj Dharshika stroking 52 and Kamil Mishara 46. Western Province North in their turn wilted being bowled out for 173 in 31.1 overs.
