Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo yesterday announced the arrival of a new Front Office Manager, Ronald David.
David brings a considerable amount of management experience to the Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo team, having spent the majority of his career managing and leading teams both in Sri Lanka and the UK.

Beginning his career as a Tele-marketing Executive for Peach International (Pvt) Ltd, David developed a career in moulding and leading sales teams.  His career progressed rapidly from leading teams to setting up and managing an outsourced UK based call center in Sri Lanka.
David was introduced to the hospitality industry in 2008, when he was appointed by Hilton Colombo residence for the role of Revenue Manager, a challenge he embraced. David was educated in Sri Lanka before he went onto complete his MBA in business with The University of Wales in London.
He took the opportunity to expand his experience in the hospitality industry with his move to England in 2009, working for the Park Plaza Victoria Hotel.  David’s hotel experience began with humble beginnings, starting off as a night porter he worked his way up the ladder rapidly becoming the Duty Manager of the Hotel. His stint at Park Plaza exposed David to the in depth workings of a hotel’s operation.   He states proudly “Starting from the bottom gives you a true feel as to how the hotel operation actually works.”
Whilst working at Park Plaza David had the opportunity of bumping shoulders with Bill Gates, Anastasia and other high flyers, a great perk of the job. During his time at the Hotel it received the prestigious Caterer award for Best Front Office Manager and was nominated for Best Front Office team in UK.
Looking to grow his career in the hospitality sector David seized the opportunity in joining Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo, currently ranked the Best Five Star Hotel by Sri Lanka Tourism.
A perfectionist, David has great plans to drive Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo to the forefront of the hospitality industry by focusing on empowering his team to drive the industry standards further.
“The investments our owning company John Keells has been making towards the development of the Leisure sector and its future plans are just an indication of the growth in the pipeline.  The Group is known as the trendsetters of the industry and I look forward to contributing towards its development plans,” David said.
David is personable and a friendly character.  His drive and dedication are characteristics certain to have an impact in taking Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo to the next level in hospitality services.  David is amongst several local and expatriate industry experts to join the Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo management team which is gearing itself for the rapid developments set to transform the hospitality industry in Sri Lanka.
