In a landmark move that saw Women’s Cricket being given new impetus, Sri Lanka Cricket in May this year, contracted 30 Women’s cricketers handpicked from the Inter-Provincial Tournaments to train as a National Development Squad. These cricketers have been provided with an allowance to assist in their travel, equipment and nutritional needs and have been training under the Provincial coaches in a structured national plan.

The two-match series against the Thai national team will provide much needed match exposure and experience to our young crop of women’s cricketers.
