South Korea to provide US$ 200 million to Sri Lanka
South Korea has agreed to provide a US$ 200 million loan to Sri Lanka to invest in the country’s development activities.
Accordingly, an agreement towards this has been signed between the two nations during the ongoing visit of President Mahinda Rajapaksa to the Asian country.
The loan agreement was signed by the Secretary to the President Lalith Weeratunga and Vice Finance Minister of Korea Shin Je Yoon, respectively representing both countries.
Both nations have also signed an agreement to cooperate in the area of electricity generation.
Meanwhile, President Mahinda Rajapaksa has met his South Korean counterpart LeeMyung-bak at his official residence.
