Tuskers Looking For Improved Effort In Second Leg
The Sri Lanka Tuskers are looking to improve on their disappointing performance in the first leg when they begin their second leg of the Asia Sevens Series in South Korea this weekend.
The team welcomed back experienced campaigners Danushka Ranjan and Chanaka Chandimal who have both recovered from injury. The duo replaced Kavindu Perera and Samith Dhananjaya from the 1st leg lineup.
Sudarshana Muthuthanthri’s Sri Lanka national sevens side will have the services of last year’s skipper and impact player Danushka Ranjan who is finally declared match fit. The 24-year-old missed out on the 1st leg not having completely recovered from the injury that he sustained in the Asia Division I Rugby Championship in May.
However, the Kandy Sports Club center has been with the team since the start of training and shouldn’t find blending in difficult.
Just before the team left sri Lanka they had another injury blow when key player Buddhima Piyarathne was involved in a motor accident and he was replaced by standby Srinath Sooriyabandara.
