Gunathilaka suspended for misconduct and breach of contract

Sri Lanka Cricket today (5) announced the suspension of Mr. Danushka Gunathilaka from International Cricket for six (6) International Matches together with a 20% fine of his applicable annual contract fee for violations of Section 30 (a-ii ) and 30 (b) of the Constitution of Sri Lanka Cricketand of clauses 3.1.2, 3.1.9, 3.3.1, and 3.4 of his contract with Sri Lanka Cricket during the recently concluded India Series in Colombo.

The suspension is effective 30th September 2017, and is issued by the Executive Committee by the powers vested in it vide Section 30 (c) of the SLC Constitution and Clause 10. 3 of the contract entered into with the said player.

Mr. Gunathilaka pleaded guilty to the charges on 29th September 2017

පසුගිය දා අවසන් වූ ඉන්දියානු තරඟ සංචාරය අතරතුර දී ශ්‍රී ලංකා ක්‍රිකට් ආයතනයේ ව්‍යවස්ථාවේ 30(a)(ii) සහ 30 (b) යන වගන්තී සහ ක්‍රිකට් ආයතනය සමඟ ඇති කර ගෙන තිබූ වාර්ෂික ක්‍රීඩක ගිවිසුමේ 3.1.2, 3.1.9, 3.3.1 සහ 3.4 යන වගන්තීන් උල්ලංඝනය කරමින් කටයුතු කිරීම සම්බන්ධයෙන් ක්‍රිකට් ක්‍රීඩක ධනුෂ්ක ගුණතිලක හට ජාත්‍යන්තර ක්‍රිකට් තරඟ 6 ක තරඟ තහනමක් සහ වාර්ෂික ක්‍රීඩක ගිවිසුමෙන් 20% ක මුදලක් දඩයක් ලෙස අය කර ගැනීමට තීරණය කල බව ශ්‍රී ලංකා ක්‍රිකට් ආයතනයේ විධායක කමිටුව අද (5) නිවේදනය කරන ලදී.

මෙම තරඟ තහනම 2017 සැප්තැම්බර් මස 30 වන දින සිට ක්‍රියාත්මක වන අතර ශ්‍රී ලංකා ක්‍රිකට් විධායක සභාවට වෙතට එහි ව්‍යවස්ථාවේ 30(c) යටතේ පැවරී ඇති බලතල අනුව සහක්‍රීඩක ගිවිසුමේ 10.3 වගන්තියේ අන්තර්ගත ප්‍රතිපාදන ප්‍රකාරව මෙම තීරණය ගෙන ඇත.

ඉදිරිපත් කල චෝදනා සඳහා ගුණතිලක මහතා වර්ෂ 2017 සැප්තැම්බර් මස 29 වන දින වරද පිළිගන ඇත.
