Stay order on Olympic games telecast rights
The Colombo Commercial High Court today issued a stay order, valid until May 31, against Asia Pacific Broadcasting (APC) preventing it from handing over the telecast rights of the upcoming Olympic games to a private television station.
The HC order came after the Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation (SLRC) filed a case seeking the stay order.
The Malaysian based APC had given the rights to the telecast of the London Olympics to a local private operator in spite of the SLRC bidding for the rights as well.
