Travel Trade Sports Club Bowling Championship 2012

The Travel Trade Sports Club (TTSC) 11th Annual Bowling Championship sponsored by Amaya Resorts AND Spas was held at the Strikes Cosmic Bowling Centre on 19 May.

The Tournament was open to all members of TTSC which comprises Airlines, Outbound Travel Agencies, Inbound Tour Operators and Hotels. This event is one of the most popular events in the travel trade sports calendar and the 11th TTSC bowling tournament hit a record with the highest number of entries ever recorded for a bowling tournament.
Bowlers initially bowled 3 games and the top 10 teams advanced to the final game.
The 10 finalists were:
Whittails Travels, Traveler Global ‘A’,  Amja Travels ‘B’, Exotic Holidays, Walkers Tours ‘B’, Asian Adventures, Aitken Spence Travels ‘A’ and ‘B’, United Holidays and BOC.
Aitken Spence Travel ‘A’ secured the gold award by bowling 440 points. Aitken Spence ‘B’ won the silver award with 430 points while Nuwan Wijesinghe from the same team took the gold medal for the highest individual scorer securing 182 points. The bronze award was won by Exotica Holidays with 424 points.
Travel Trade Sports Club President Dushy Jayaweera along with the chief invitees from Amaya Resorts and Spas; Director Marketing and Sales /Vice President – Hotels, Travel Trade Sports Club Denesh Silva, Senior Manager Marketing and Sales Hameem Farook and Group Reservations Manager Dilshan Gnanapragasam were involved in presenting the awards to the winners.
