The latest concept store IT Galaxy was opened last week at the Unity Plaza with the latest HP range of notebooks and accessories.
The unique layout provides the chance for customers to get a real feel of the latest products. A range of HP notebooks are now on display including the: HP G-Series, HP Envy ultra book series, Envy series with Beats audio, Pavilion DV series, desktop computers and HP Folio.

Chief Guest at the opening Sue san Ang, HP’s Country General Manager, Asian Emerging Countries, said: “IT Galaxy allows HP customers in Sri Lanka to easily access the latest HP Notebook Technology.”
“As it’s situated in Sri Lanka’s premier IT Hub Unity Plaza, people from all parts of Sri Lanka will be able to experience firsthand HP Computer Products,” she added.
“When they purchase from IT Galaxy customers are assured of an Original HP Notebook featuring the latest technology supported by HP’s warranty,” IT Galaxy Managing Director Fahmy Ismail said. “When visiting IT Galaxy customers can get a one-of-kind experience at a one-of-a-kind IT store.”
HP Sri Lanka Country Manager Lacksmindra Fernando said: “Technology is being adopted well by the Sri Lankan society and now we are going to make the experience available for all.”
HP is a global market leader with 18% share of total computer sales.

In 2011, Sri Lanka’s hardware market was estimated at US$265 million and is on path to double by 2015. According to IT/ITES by ICRA Lanka and IMaCs ’11, until 2006, desktop computers accounted for 80% of unit sales, by 2008 this dropped to 40%. This is mainly down to the change in human nature and the need for on the go technology such as smart phones and tablet computers.
