Science writer and astronomer Anura C. Perera has provided guidance to the Sri Lankans to study the space at a time when the entire world is concerned about planetary movements and changes taking place in the universe.
In the 1960s when the world gained interest in space travel, astronomer Anura C. Perera started a revolutionary journey together with distinguished Scientist Sir Arthur C. Clerk to disseminate this knowledge amongst the Sri Lankans. Anura C. Perera translated more than 30 books to Sinhalese written by Sir Arthur C. Clerk in English to quench the curiosity of the people.
Anura C. Perera who completed 50 years as a writer providing information to the people including the youths, recently completed a literary work that may enter his name in the Guinness book of world records. He has launched an amended version of a book written by him on the planet of Venus during the transit of Venus. He connects the literary world and the complex world of science and brings forth the situations to the people in simple language.
