Trainee graduates are assured of their jobs

The Ministry of Public Administration has said that not a single graduate who had been recruited will be evicted after training. The Ministry Secretary said that their training will be continued until they are made permanent.
The Sri Lanka Freedom Graduates Union had a special discussion with Secretary to the Ministry of Public Administration and Home Affairs P.B. Abeykoon at the Ministry today. The Ministry Secretary said that the Service Minutes of Graduates will be amended and a new promotion strategy introduced. The number of graduates so far recruited to Public Service is 42,855. He pointed out that Graduates who passed out in 2010 and 2011 and have so far not be recruited will be taken in under the systematic programme.
The Secretary to the Public Administration Ministry said that there is a group of graduates undergoing training. They have already recruited more than 42,000 graduates. Not a single graduate recruited for training will be evicted. All of them will be made permanent. As such they should not have any fear of their job.
Mr. Abeykoon said that according to the Service Minutes, the date of recruitment is August 15th. Initially the date was postponed. He added that they have not ability to further postpone the date.
