Top seminar on Japanese style of management by JASTECA

A top seminar on the Japanese style of management organised by the JASTECA Institute of Management will be held on 27 August from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The objective of the seminar is to enhance the business efficiency, service quality and competitiveness of company directors, consultants, managers, corporate trainers, who are best suited to benefit from the full day program.

A spokesman for Japan Sri Lanka Technical and Cultural Association (JASTECA) said the participants will be able to learn the application of Japanese management techniques through lectures and panel discussion.
They will focus on adopting and benefiting from Japanese management techniques and practice, Japanese way of delighting the customer, four pillar strategy for sustainable growth and profits as well as business excellence through 5S and Kaizen.
“This is a highly interactive program with lectures, panel discussion and question and answer sessions,” the JASTECA spokesman said.
He also said all resource persons are experts in Japanese style of management having had their initial training in Japan. They have to their credit wide ranging experience in developing Sri Lankan entrepreneurs and managers and have gained global recognition in introducing Japanese style management practices to Sri Lankan and foreign  organizations.
The expert panel of speakers are Mahinda Saranapala, President Japan Sri Lanka Technical and Cultural Association (JASTECA), and CEO of Kelani Cables Plc., Sunil Wijesinha, specialist in productivity and Japanese style management and winner of APO Award for promoting productivity in the Asia Pacific Region, Premalal Fernando, former Managing Director Richard Pieris Tyre Sector and Management Consultant in 5S and Kaizen concepts and Dhammika Kalapuge, Director, Sipcom-1 Ltd.
Another key benefit for participants is the insights from eminent Japanese expatriate business managers with extensive experience in the corporate sector of Sri Lanka who will feature in a panel discussion.
The panel will be led by Akihiko Nakauchi, Chairman of Colombo Dockyard Plc, who is a graduate from the Kobe University of Japan. He was formally the Managing Director, Business Innovation and Development at the Mitsui Engineering and Ship building Corporation, Japan.
Participation at this full day program is by prior registration with an investment of Rs. 8,500 + VAT.
The JASTECA Institute of Management (JIM) is the training arid skills development arm of Japan Sri Lanka Technical and Cultural Association. JIM was created for the purpose of utilizing local management expertise and resources to conduct seminars, workshops and training programmes on Japanese and other general management techniques for the benefit of local industrial and commercial ventures.
Hitherto JIM has conducted several training programmes aimed towards local industries by which their managers, executives and technicians have been provided with exposure to Japanese and other general management skills.
JIM has also utilised the expertise of return trainees of the Association for Overseas Technical Scholarship (AOTS) Japan. These experts, while imparting their knowledge and skills, touch on their personal experiences and work ethics learnt in Japan. JIM also conducts in-house training programs tailor made to clients’ needs.
