16,478 graduates to be recruited next month
Measures are in place to recruit 16,478 graduates to the Economic Development Ministry.
A decision has been made to recruit 16,478 graduates who had completed their six months training to the Economic Development Ministry. They are to be recruited under the programme mooted by the Government to take in graduates to the Public Service.
Minister Basil Rajapaksa said that they will be recruited to the Public Service with effect from the first of next month. He said their main objective was to solicit the contribution of graduates towards the Ministry’s development programme as well as the country’s overall march towards development and progress. The Minister pointed out that graduates are energetic persons and they would be greatly helpful to the country’s prestige and development if they discharged their duties properly.
The Minister revealed these details at a workshop organized to appraise about the task of recruiting graduates to the Economic Development Ministry. The event was organized at the Sri Lanka Tourism and Hotel Management Institute. A notable feature was the participation of District Planning Directors and Assistant Directors in this workshop. Ministry Secretary Chandra Wickremasinghe and Divi Neguma Director Jayatilake Herath were among those present on the occasion.
