Neil Armstrong, the first man to walk on the moon, bids adieu to the world at the age of 82. Issuing a statement yesterday, his family said Armstrong died following complications resulting from cardiovascular procedures. It didn’t mention any specifications of the death. This is a brief history of the man who made the most daring scientific expedition of the 20th Century. Born on 5th August 1930, on a farm in Ohio, He was given piloting license at the age of 16. Armstrong enrolled in Purdue University to study aeronautical engineering but was called to duty with the US Navy in 1949 in Korea. Armstrong was accepted into NASA’s second astronaut class in 1962. Armstrong commanded the Apollo 11 spacecraft that landed on the moon on the 20th July 1969. Making his first statement from the Lunar Armstrong said “That’s one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.
