Ranminitenna Tele Village begins work for this year
The Ranminitenna Tele Cinema Village commenced work for this year under the patronage of President Rajapaksa.
The President who arrived at the Ranminitenna Tele Cinema Village yesterday inquired into the progress of the project and its future activities. The President launched the official website of the Tele Village. He also joined in the handing over of certificates to those who have been selected to the Talent Bank programme mooted by the Tele Village for the benefit of amateurs who display their skills in the artistic field.
ITN and National Rupavahini will give priority for the telecast of teledramas produced at the Tele Village in the future. The handing over of documents related to the teledrama “Amuthu Minussu” produced on behalf of the National Rupavahini and “Korale Mahatthaya” on behalf of ITN to the Directors took place under the patronage of the President. Present on the occasion were many artistes. The President exchanged pleasantries with the artistes.
Expressing views on the occasion, Minister Keheliya Rambukwella said that they entered a programme with a new vision in the year 2010. This village provides many benefits for the persons engaged in the industry. The Minister said that they launched the programme making some influence to the countries in the South Asian region other than India.
Parliamentarians Namal Rajapaksa, Uditha Lokubandara, Sri Ranga and Malini Fonseka were among those who joined in the function held at the Ranminitenna Tele Village. ITN Chairman Rosmand Senaratne and several other heads of media institutions were present. A notable feature was the presence of India’s spiritual Leader Gyalwang Durkpa and over 270 of his followers.
