It has been emphasised by the Minister of Labour and Labour Relations, Gamini Lokuge that talks are been held to find the possibility of increasing the salaries of private sector employees by arrange between 25% to 40%.
The agreements in this regard would be signed shortly and he was happy that during the course of last year the strikes were at a very minimum level which is happy thing to hear. It had gone as an achievement in the annals of the history of the private sector.
He also added that his Ministry is formulating new rules to obtain loans from the EPF and also allow those contracted employees to have the same benefits from their EPF accounts. A system is to be introduced for every employee to find out details of his EPF account by registering the NIC numbers and their finger prints.
