ITN bags several awards at Raigam Tele Awards
A number of creations and artistes of ITN have won awards at the 2012 Raigam Tele Awards ceremony.The Awards ceremony was held last night before an audience of Ministers, Parliamentarians and artistes. 57 awards were presented at the ceremony organized by the kingdom of Raigam. ‘Induwari’ tele drama telecast by the ITN was awarded the most popular tele drama. Producer of the tele-drama Lilantha Kumarasiri received the award. ‘Parliament’ programme produced by Manjula Athugala was adjudged the best documentary programme. Ifthiya Abdul Cader of ITN was adjudged the best English news Reader. Ravi Bandu Vidyapathi and Priyantha Dassanayake were awarded for best music direction in ‘Amarapuraya’ tele-drama telecast by the ITN. Asha Edirisinghe who acted in ITN tele-dramas was adjudged the most popular actress. Dulika Marapana who acted in “Me Wasantha Kalayai” was awarded as the best supporting actress. Ruwanganie Ratnayake who acted in the same tele-drama was the best upcoming actress. The award for the best actress went to Kanchana Mendis who acted in the same tele-drama. A notable feature was the special awards of the jury won by ITN. A special merit award of the jury was presented for the musical programme ‘Sanhinda’ which was received by Udaya Kumara Tennekoon and Indrasiri Suraweera of the ITN. Ananda Kumara received the special merit award of the jury for his performance in ‘Me Wasantha Kalayai’’. Many more tele-dramas of the ITN were nominated. Saranga Disasekara who was adjudged the most popular actor and many more artistes were felicitated at the ceremony. Special honourary awards were presented to Rev. Fr. Ernest poruthota and Dr. Lalitha Siribaddana. Dharmasena Pathiraja was awarded the ‘Prathibha Prabha’ award.
