Lankaputhra Development Bank supports agricultural resurgence

Lankaputhra Development Bank signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Jagath Enterprises to support the agricultural-based industries in the Eastern and the North Central Provinces.
The agricultural community faces many difficulties when purchasing machinery and equipment. Lankaputhra Development Bank has identified the difficulties and signed the MOU with Jagath enterprises to support and uplift the agricultural community.

The MOU will help eliminate the difficulties by giving loans to purchase machinery at concessionary rates. The MOU will permit farmers as well as self employed persons in the agricultural sector to purchase machinery and equipment such as hand tractors, special cycles to transport liquid milk at concessionary rates.
This scheme supports the Nagenahira Navodaya and the Polonnaruwa and Batticaloa branches of Lankaputhra Development Bank will provide all facilities to obtain loans under this scheme.
Lankaputhra Development Bank, a fully-fledged Government bank, was opened to strengthen the local economy by supporting the entrepreneurs of the country. The bank has initiated many loan schemes to support the Small and Medium-scale Entrepreneurs in the country. In addition to the savings scheme for children with attractive interest rates, leasing and pawning services are also offered by the bank.
At present the bank has branches in Colombo, Hambantota, Polonnaruwa, Kegalle, Kandy, Wennappuwa, Trincomalee and Batticaloa. The bank is planning to open branches covering all districts in future to cater to the needs of our valued customers in the region.
