Sri Lanka to receive more rains
Spill gates of the Upper Kotmale and Laxapana reservoir has been opened as heavy rains in the central hills has resulted in water levels in those areas going up.
Water levels in the Canyon and Maussa-Kale too has gone up due to heavy rains experienced in that region.
Meanwhile, the Met Department says, showers will occur at times in the Central, Sabaragamuwa, Western and Southern provinces during the day.
It also says, showers may extend to North-Western province too.
“Fairly strong winds are expected to continue over the country and neighboring sea areas, particularly along the western slopes of the Central hills. In addition there may be temporary localized strong winds during showers”, added the Met Department in its latest weather report.
Met Department says, many parts of the Island will receive rains in the coming days.
