How can Sri Lankan charities find international donors and partners?

Quality and consistency rewarded at tea auctions with all-time record prices

At last week’s tea auctions, the following marks reputed for producing quality tea consistently established all-time record prices in off grade and high and medium catalogues of Forbes & Walker Tea Brokers Ltd.:
St. Coombs and Clydesdale, two prime properties in the famous Dimbula agro climatic region, where tea of quality and consistency are produced throughout, jointly established an all-time record price of Rs. 510 for Fannings 1 Grade which surpassed the previous all-time record of Rs. 500. The line of tea from St. Coombs was purchased by Ceylon Tea Services Ltd. and the line of tea from Clydesdale was purchased by Classic Teas Ltd.
St. Coombs is owned and managed by Tea Research Institute coming under the purview of Sri Lanka Tea Board whilst Clydesdale is managed and owned by Agarapatana Plantations PLC.
The other noteworthy achievement was by Craighead Mark considered to be best selling orthodox mark in the medium grown elevation category. It established an all-time record price of Rs. 780 at the sale of 21 August for a line of BOP1 Grade. It was equalled by another line of Craighead at the sale of 27 August.
A line of BOP1 Grade was sold at Rs. 780 equalling the record set by them for the second week in succession. This line of tea was purchased by George Steuart Teas Ltd. It is no doubt this is a clear manifestation of the consistent product quality maintained by the estate and the confidence placed by the buyers for the teas produced by Craighead Mark.
Craighead is owned and managed by Kahawatte Plantations PLC.
