‘Dumindha Silva’ appointed to Touchwood Investments Board
Sri Lanka’s Touchwood Investments PLC, which is under investigation by the SEC has appointed Dumindha Silva, a ruling party MP as a Non Executive / Independent Director of the firm.
The appointment is with effective from the 23rd of September.
Sri Lanka’s Securities and Exchange Commission in the early part of this month started a fully fledged investigation into the business affairs of Touchwood Investments PLC.
“The investigation is still continuing”, said a SEC official.
As per the SEC order, CSE also took steps to temporarily ban the trading of Touchwood shares on two occasions, earlier this month.
The company is also currently having a court case against it, filed by a petitioner, who wants the court to order the winding up the forestry management firm.
