Colombo Paradise Round Table 5 (CPRT5) sets the tone for the holiday season with a smashing party for a cause.  The event will take place at the Hilton Colombo nightclub, The Blue Elephant, on 29 November from 9 p.m. onwards.
Proceeds will be in aid of ‘The Refuge’ Jeevanakanda Girls Home, Kandy, an approved charitable organisation (Reg. No. The Refuge 1579 512 2008).
With VIP tables selling out rapidly, ‘Farewell to The Blue’ is fast becoming a must attend in Colombo’s social calendar. The fundraiser features a collaboration of Colombo’s most talented DJs including legendary DJ Tim Claessen, DJ Danushka (Resident DJ at Amuseum Night Club), DJ Kapila (former Resident DJ at The Blue Elephant), special guest DJs and a percussion drummer.
CPRT5, affiliated with the International Round Table movement, was chartered in March 2013 and has taken on the task of conducting two charity projects in a year.
Table 5 Chairman Asif Nanji said: “As the most recently chartered Round Table in Sri Lanka, we have challenged ourselves to complete two community service projects within our first year. We completed our first project on the day of our Chartering Ceremony where we painted and renovated an elders’ home. This was a first in the history of round tabling in Sri Lanka. The Refuge Home is in need of additional funding to upgrade their facilities so CPRT5 has stepped in to aid them in their cause.”
The Refuge is a home for girls who have been abused in their home environment. It is a tranquil home in the mountains near Kandy run by a South African couple, Pieter and Luise Ter Haar. The Home truly is a refuge for the girls who are given the opportunity to recover from their traumas in a safe and peaceful environment.
With the support of sponsors Anything.lk, Shout.lk, The Lantern Villa, Luxury Brands Ltd., 3000 Cars, Anim8 Ltd., Taction Security Services and the In Vogue magazine, the event promises to be the highlight of the season.
Tickets are priced at Rs. 2,500 including a welcome shooter before 11 p.m. and can be booked through www.shout.lk/tickets.  Further information is available with Rae on 0773506965 or on the ‘Farewell to the Blue’ Facebook page.
