Sri Lankan shippers says new reforms will eliminate unfair trade practices
Hong Kong based Cathay Pacific Airways has appointed Rupert Hogg as its new Chief Operating Officer with effect from March, 2014.
51 year old Hogg is currently functioning as the Director Sales & Marketing of the airline, a position he took up in August 2010.
From 2008 to 2010 he has been the Director Cargo of the Airline, overseeing all aspects of the Group’s cargo business including operations, marketing and sales.
Hogg has joined John Swire & Sons in 1986 and worked with Cathay Pacific from 1988 to 1997 in a variety of management positions, both in Hong Kong and Southeast Asia.
From 2002 to 2008, he has served as the Managing Director of James Finlay Limited – a wholly owned subsidiary of John Swire & Sons Limited.
Hogg’s appointment comes as Cathay has decided to elevate Ivan Chu, its current Chief Operating Officer of airline, as its new Chief Executive.
The current Chief Executive, John Slosar, will succeed Christopher Pratt as Chairman of the airline, John Swire & Sons (H.K.) Ltd, Swire Pacific Ltd, Swire Properties Ltd and Hong Kong Aircraft Engineering Co. Ltd.
