Athuraliye Rathana Thero will abstain from voting on no-confidence
Parliamentarian, the Venerable Athuraliye Rathana Thero says he will abstain from voting on the no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe.
The Venerable Athuraliye Rathana Thero told BBC Sinhala that with the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) saying it will abstain from voting on the no-confidence motion, the whole situation behind the issue had changed and so he will not vote.
The monk, who played a role to create the national unity Government, said that his next move is to unite all three factions in Parliament, the United National Party, the Sri Lanka Freedom Party and the Joint Opposition.
