Vasantham TV bags several Awards at Rupavahini State Awards Festival
The 2013 Rupavahini State Awards Festival was held on a grand scale yesterday. ITN has also been honoured with Awards.
The Rupavahini State Awards Festival was held at the BMICH last night with Speaker Chamal Rajapaksa gracing the occasion as the Chief Guest. Vasantham TV of the Independent Television Network received Awards for many of its programmes.
Irfan Mohammed of Vasantham TV received Awards for the Best Sports programme, the Best Innovative programme, Best News Reporting and Best Magazine Programme. The Award presented for the Best Tamil Medium Discussional Programme was presented to K. Punyamoorthy for the Autograph programme. Kumara Karavdeniya was honoured with the Best Art Director’s Award for the “Parana Tawma” teledrama telecast by ITN.
Berty Gunatilake, Kamalini Selvaraja and Noeline Honter were presented with Lifetime Achievements Awards. Minister T.B. Ekanayake, officials of the Cultural Affairs Ministry and a large gathering including many artistes were present on the occasion.
