BOC Mega Wasi Season 2 Kyron SUV grand prize goes to Akkaraipattu

The Mega Wasi Season 2 grand prize, a Kyron SUV, went to a customer of the Bank of Ceylon Akkaraipattu branch. The draw took place at the Bank of Ceylon Head Office premises on 9 April under the patronage of BOC Chairman Air Chief Marshal Harsha Abeywickrama, Bank of Ceylon Directors, General Manager D.M. Gunasekara and the senior management of BOC.
Ten lucky winners of each province won ten Micro Panda cars. Other prizes won at this draw are three cash prizes of Rs. 1 million each, 20 prizes of Rs. 100,000 each, 40 tours to Bangkok and 1,480 cash prizes of Rs. 10,000.
The BOC Mega Wasi Season 1 rewarded 9,828 winners and Mega Wasi 2 produced 4,258 winners. Total gifts and cash prizes of Rs. 249 million were offered during BOC Mega Wasi Seasons 1 and 2 which were launched to encourage savings.

BOC Ran Kekulu gift vouchers could be purchased in denominations of Rs. 500, Rs. 1,000, Rs. 2,000, and Rs. 5,000 from any Bank of Ceylon branch. Those vouchers can be deposited into any existing BOC Ran Kekulu Children’s savings account or you could deposit this voucher and open a new account with Bank of Ceylon at any branch.
BOC Ran Kekulu, Sri Lanka’s best children’s savings account will always be given an additional 1% on its interest rate compared to a normal savings account. This account is also linked with free life insurance cover for the parent or guardian to maximum of Rs. 500,000 (minimum balance of Rs. 5,000 to be maintained for a period of six months prior to the incident).
Any parent or guardian who opened Ran Kekulu accounts for more than one child will be insured up to a maximum of Rs. 1 million (age of the parent/ guardian not exceeding 70 years of age). The child will also get a free medical insurance cover up to Rs. 100,000 per annum in case of accident or specified 10 critical illnesses requiring hospitalisation for more than three nights (minimum balance of Rs. 5,000 should be maintained for a period of six months prior to the incident).
BOC Ran Kekulu account holders are also entitled for slab-based gifts for special birthdays as per the balance in the account. The Bank of Ceylon Ran Kekulu account holders who show exceptional performance at the year 5 scholarship examination are also entitled for consideration for a scholarship under a special scholarship scheme. Ran Kekulu account holders may also enjoy seasonal benefits the bank provides from time to time to this special account.
