The police media spokesman, S S P Ajith Rohana said that there will be a special investigation on what the VIP security were doing at the time of the attack to the UNP parliamentarian at Hambantota.
He said that there are two security persons are allocated to one parliamentarian and it is their duty to inform the closest police station if there is a threat to the security of the parliamentarian. It has not been done by them here.
” If the security persons informed the police station in this regard, the police would rush to the place and provide security to the parliamentarians. But, they had not informed the police. We are investigation to see whether there was a loop hole in the side of the police” he added.
