Police Rule Out Murder In Jaffna Death
The police have ruled out murder in the death of the girl whose body was found in a well in Visvamadu recently and insisted it was due to drowning. The deceased Jeron Consoleeta was a twenty one year old resident of Adappan Street in Gurunagar and her body was found floating inside a well near a house in Gurunagar.
Her parents raised suspicions over her death and claimed that a Catholic priest may have been involved in the incident. Police Spokesman SSP Ajith Rohana said that, according to the post-mortem report, the cause of the death was due to drowning and there were no visible external injuries or any sign of struggle.
“Her bicycle was parked near the well and there were no eye witnesses to the incident. No one has seen the particular Catholic priest being involved in her death,” he said. The Police Spokesman said that investigations into the death of the girl will continue. (WK)
