Cricket: Sri Lanka names T20 squad against England

Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) selectors named a 15-man squad under the captaincy of Lasith Malinga, who was officially appointed as the T20 skipper today, for the one-off Twenty20 game against England.

This game will be the first as deputy skipper for Lahiru Thirimanne and the first since two senior players, Mahela Jayawardene and Kumar Sangakkara retired from T20.

Sri Lanka has dropped left-arm spinner Rangana Herath from their last game against India, in the ICC World Twenty20 final, and has brought in Kithruwan Vithanage, Ashan Priyanjan and Chathuranga de Silva as replacements.

Sri Lanka T20 team vs England: Lasith Malinga (Capt), Lahiru Thirimanne, Kusal Perera, TM Dilshan, Angelo Mathews, Dinesh Chandimal, Kithruwan Vithanage, Ashan Priyanjana, Thissara Perera, Nuwan Kulasekara, Chathuranga de Silva, Sachithra Senanayake, Suranga Lakmal, Seekkuge Prasanna, Ajantha Mendis.
