Final rites held for late Neil Chanmugam
The final rites of the late Neil Chanmugam, a former Group Director of the Capital Maharaja Organisation Limited were observed on Thursday at the Borella Public Cemetery.
The cortege of the late Neil Chanmugam lay at Number 10, Greenlands Lane in Colombo, on Wednesday and Thursday, for the public to pay their final respects.
Following religious observances at the residence on Thursday, the cortege was brought in procession to the Borella Public Cemetery for the final rites.
A proud product of S. Thomas’ College, Mount Lavinia, Neil Chanmugam was a renowned senior cricketer. A talented right arm bowler, he represented Sri Lanka in the 1960s and the 1970s.
He also represented the Mercantile Cricket Club and the Sri Lanka Cricket Board Chairman’s Eleven.
Neil Chanmugam passed away on Tuesday evening.
