Japan willing to develop tourism in Sri Lanka based on Ayurvedha

Japan has assured support to Sri Lanka to develop the tourism industry based on Ayurvedha.
This assurance has been given by Japanese Member of Parliament Arai Hiroyuki during a meeting with Minister Basil Rajapaksa. Their meeting was held at the Economic Development Ministry.
He said that vast resources normally not evident in the other countries are available in Sri Lanka and Sri Lankan Ayurveda system is very popular among the Japanese people.
The Japanese MP said that arrivals of Japanese tourists has increased from 10,000 to 20,000 and most of the tourists are significantly women and children. Action has been taken by Japan in response to a request made by Minister Basil Rajapaksa, during his last visit to Japan, to send Japanese investments to Sri Lanka. He further stated that Japan is ready to contribute towards building the capacity of local tourist guides by providing training and knowledge while at the same time sharing the experiences of tourist guides in Japan.
Minister Basil Rajapaksa stated that Japan has extended generous assistance towards development in Sri Lanka which in turn has strengthened ties between the two countries. He pointed out that every possible assistance will be extended to Japanese investors to develop tourism and ayurvedha system in the future.
