"Feel zealous seeing the economic growth and development in Sri Lanka"- Dutch Vice Minister
"Feel zealous about the economic growth and development in Sri Lanka " said the visiting Netherlands Vice Minister for Foreign Trade Simon Smits at a Press Conference held at the Kingsbury Hotel, today (14).
Minister Smit who is on a four day official visit to Sri Lanka was accompanied by a business delegation comprising some leading Dutch companies such as Boskails, Vitens Evides, Enraf Nonius, van der knaap, Eijkelkamp, and Rabobank .
The visit is aimed at obtaining a first-hand impression of the many opportunities that Sri Lanka, as a rapidly developing market, is offering.
The Dutch Minister's visit will mainly engage on health and water sectors where Dutch companies are in the lead in offering expertise. The other sectors Netherland intends supporting are agriculture and agricultural productions, energy and life science through trade and investment by Dutch Good Growth Fund (DGGF) in Netherlands. Thee DGGF provides alternative financing and export insurance to Small and medium enterprises who wish to invest in or to export to low and middle-income countries. The DGGF program is available for activities in 66 countries in Africa, Asia, Middle East, Eastern Europe and Latin America.
Smits will be meeting Minister of Economic Develpment Basil Rajapaksa and Minister of Health Maithripala Sirisena in addition to other senior government officials and business leaders.(KH/SI)
