Bay of Bengal sea area may be very rough at times

The Met. Dept. says that Strong winds at times (up to 60kmph) can be expected over the sea areas off the Northern and Northeastern coast. Winds speed can strengthen up to 70-80kmph at times in the Bay of Bengal.


Showers will occur at a few places in the sea areas around the island.


Winds will be Southwesterly and the speed will be 20-40 kmph.

 

While, the Bay of Bengal sea area may be very rough at times; the sea areas off the coast extending from Mannar to Trincomalee via Kankesanthurai and the sea areas off the coast extending from Hambanthota to Pothuvil may be rough at times as winds can strengthen up to 50-60kmph.
