The pair of shoes sans souls fetches a bid for Rs billion 132
At the time during the period of the visit of the Chinese President,the Minister of cultural affairs C.B.Ekanayake when trying to sign an agreement,he had noticed that both souls of his both shoes had given way and his fingers in the feet were protruding out.
It is learnt that a English Company has made a bid for the pair of damaged shoes for a sum of US$ million 1000 (Rs million 13200) and has channeled it through our embassy in UK.
The Minister C.B.Ekanayake had commented that he will not agree to the bid as higher bids will come along for him to consider selling.
