Symbolic Army Flag Blessing ceremony today at Jaya Sri Maha Bodiya
A series of special religious observances parallel to the Sri Lanka Army’s 65th anniversary and Army Day on October 10, for the second time since the inception of the Army in 1949, got underway at the Sri Dalada Maligawa in Kandy on Saturday (27), where all Army Flags were symbolically blessed.
The traditional Flag Blessing ceremony of the Army at Anuradhapura Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi precincts, will take place this morning (oct.01)
As has been the practice, all the Army Flags, including the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force, all Security Force Headquarters, Divisions, Brigades and Regiments across the country that symbolize the living memory, dignity of the organization and all the members that serve it, will be respectively conducted in procession by representative officers of each unit while the n a colourful procession while the Commander, will carry the Army Flag for invocation of blessings of the Jaya Sri Maha Bodhiya .
The Commander of the Army and all senior officers will take part in the ceremonies.
