2nd Int'l Conference on Hospitality and Tourism Management 2014

Hospitality and Tourism Management 2nd International Conference – 2014 organized by the International Institute of  Knowledge Management was inaugurated  on Tuesday (07) by the Minister of Economic Development Basil Rajapaksa at Hotel Galadhari, Colombo. 

 
The summit was conducted under the theme” Finding practical and innovative solutions for challenges in Tourism”" as an attempts to open international platform to researchers & scholars across the world to debate & discuss upon number of strategic aspects of tourism & hospitality industry. 
 
The key note address was delivered by Mrs. Zoritsa Urozevic, Head of International Relations and Resource Mobilization. 
 
 
Launching of the book ” She is mine- How to win the hearts of Chinese Tourists” authored by Dr.Nalin Abeysekera and Shyam Nuwan Ganewatte and  the website “www.srilankaeconomy.com” displaying latest information on Sri Lankan Economy also took place concurrent to the opening of the exhibition by the Minister, Basil Rajapaksa.  
 
 
The summit, assisted by   the  Tourism Mass Media Association of  Sri Lanka, Post Graduate Course on Tourism Economy and Hotel Management in the University of Colombo, Management and Science University in Malaysia and Sri Lanka  Convention Bureau, was held on 7th.and 8th .October, with the participation of representatives from 22  foreign countries.  
 
 
Minister Lakshman Yapa Abeywardena, Chairman of Tourism Development Authority Bashwara Senanka Gunaratne and Consultant of United Nations Environment  Programme Miss. Catelima Echevari  were among the large gathering of well wishers on this occasion. (MED/KH)
