Virat Kohli to lead India against touring Sri Lanka
Virat Kohli will lead India while MS Dhoni has been rested from the first three ODIs of the five-match series against Sri Lanka to be played next month. The BCCI on Tuesday announced the venues and a 15-man squad for the series that starts from November 2.
India squad for first three ODIs: Virat Kohli (capt), Shikhar Dhawan, Ajinkya Rahane, Suresh Raina, Ambati Rayudu, Wriddhiman Saha (wk), R Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Mohammed Shami, Umesh Yadav, Ishant Sharma, Amit Mishra, M Vijay, Varun Aaron, Axar Patel.
India A squad: Manoj Tiwary (capt), Unmukt Chand, Manan Vohra, Karun Nair, Rohit Sharma, Kedar Jadhav, Sanju Samson (wk), Parveez Rasool, Karn Sharma, Stuart Binny, Dhawal Kulkarni, Jasprit Bumrah, Manish Pandey, Kuldeep Yadav.
The venues for the 5 ODIs will be Cuttack, Hyderabad, Ranchi, Kolkata and Ahmedabad and the detailed itinerary will be announced shortly.
BCCI members appreciated Sri Lanka Cricket’s gesture to tour India at a short notice and on a reciprocal basis, will tour the Island nation in July/August 2015.
“The Members appreciated the gesture of Sri Lankan Cricket Board for having accepted our request to play 5 ODIs starting from 2nd of November 2014, at such a short notice. This tour is in lieu of their scheduled tour to India next year which will be reciprocated by India touring Sri Lanka in months of July/August 2015,” BCCI added.
