Entrust Group to provide Sri Lankan dancers opportunity to enhance and gain recognition

Entrust Group, a name synonymous in the financial sector and in the local sporting arena, has once again come forward in sponsoring the Dancesport 2014 International Dance Championships, one of the grandest international-scale dance events that is being held in the country, and gives an opportunity for local dancers to perform, excel and be recognised for their talents.
Dancesport Sri Lanka 2014 will be held on 2 November at the Grand Ballroom, Hilton in Colombo and will comprise 20 categories in Ballroom and Latin American Dancing. Junior under 12 and 16 events, beginners, novices, pre amateur, amateur rising star and amateur competitions will be worked out during the championships.
This year’s event will comprise adjudicators and contestants from UK, Italy, Bulgaria, Russia, Thailand, China, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, India and Sri Lanka. Dancesport Sri Lanka 2014 is recognised as a World Dance Council Amateur League event.
Footwork Events headed by Dharshan Wijesooriya has been spearheading this event from its inception since 1996. Dharshan is a fellow of the International Dance Teachers Association UK and holds a World Dance Council adjudicating license and has to date adjudicated more than 120 international competitions around the world. To date Footwork Events has produced 19 dance championships, including seven international competitions in Sri Lanka.
Entrust Group believes that opportunities come in different shapes and forms, as the sponsorships and involvement in promoting different types of sports in Sri Lanka, models the group’s corporate objective of developing the different sports to a passionate level and also instilling right values in the mind-sets of the sportsmen and women.
