Sudden increase of wind speed over the sea areas from Jaffna to Hambanthota
Due to the active cloudiness to the west and to the South of Sri Lanka, sudden increase of wind speed over the sea areas off the coast extending from Jaffna to Hambanthota via Colombo and Galle is possible, Met. Dept. states. Therefore the possibility of sudden roughness of the above said sea areas are high.
Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in the sea areas around the island.
Winds will be North-westerly or variable direction and the speed will be 20-30 kmph. There may be temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers.
Generally, sea areas around the island will not be rough. However, the sea areas may be temporary rough during thundershowers.
