ICIMOD sets its plan for BAQ 2014
Better Air Quality (BAQ) 2014 conference will be held at the BMICH in Colombo from November 19-21.

The Atmosphere Initiative of the International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD), realizing the increasing effects of atmospheric changes on the fragile ecosystems and well being of people in the Hindu Kush Himalayan (HKH) region was established in the year 2013. Driven by a motive to upgrade the understanding of atmospheric issues by promoting regional cooperation for addressing such issues, the Initiative’s participation in the Better Air Quality (BAQ) Conference 2014 being held in Colombo, Sri Lanka is an important activity.

BAQ is a leading event of Clean Air Asia that has influenced positive changes by bringing together policy makers, practitioners, and industry leaders. It is the major international conference on air quality in Asia, and it covers key sectors of transport, energy, industry, and climate change.

The theme for this year’s BAQ conference is ‘Next Generation Solutions for Clean Air and Sustainable Transport − Towards a Livable Society in Asia’. (KH)
